Expert Hand Quilting & Finishing Service

Have your treasured family quilt top completed. Please call Georgina at (410) 867-0665 for particulars, time frame, schedule and estimates. After speaking with Georgina, insure and ship your quilt top to Bellwether Dry Goods. We offer expert hand quilting and finishing by one of over 100 Amish and Mennonite women across the country. No Group Quilting.

Your quilt will be completed by one woman with wonderful, even stitching. Prices vary for each quilt, since cost is determined by the following: pattern of quilting and customer’s desired designs, marking and top preparation, backing and batting, total yards of quilting thread ($1-$1.50 per running yard, depending on the hand quilter), binding, laundering, insurance and shipping costs.

Commissions are accepted for appliqued wall hanging and bed quilts.

Memory Quilts

A special quilt can be made from a loved ones clothing. All fabrics must be 100% cotton woven textiles. Call for details and specifics.

Patterns

Many of our patterns are reproductions of antique quilts. Redwork Embroidery Patterns include: Weekday Busy Sues, Hen House Chores, Hillbillies, Mama's Lil' Helper, Mammie's Work Is Never Done and Penguins. We also have Redwork Embroidery patterns for: Calendar Kids (12), Chefs (10), Humpty Dumpty (12), Signs of Spring (5) and Summer Camp (5). And applique patterns: Depression Butterflies, Happy Valley (Michele Hill's pattern from Australia), Shelburne Memories and Sunbonnet Angels.

Ecology Cloth

We sell Ecology Cloth by the bolt or 3 yard bundles. Ecology Cloth is a much higher thread count muslin, perfect for piecing, hand applique, inking, embroidery and photo transfer. A bolt is 40 yards, 44” wide and is $138 and includes shipping for U.S. orders. We can ship you a bolt for next day delivery in the U.S. Many of our customers share a bolt. Three yard bundles sell for $12, plus $5 for U.S. shipping. Shipping charges will vary for international orders. We use Ecology Cloth exclusively for our quilts.

Signature Quilts

Make that wedding or child’s birth truly special with a custom–designed signature quilt. We suggest a “signing space” for each family member or friend to write a permanent message to the bride and groom or new baby. Also makes a special retirement or anniversary gift.

Trunk Show/Lecture

We offer a trunk show with 25 antique quilts and 50 newly made quilts using antique fabrics and feedsacks. We offer patterns and Ecology Cloth (muslin) for sale after the lecture. Please call Georgina at (410) 867–0665 to schedule.
